I set my notebook on my lap, pen poised. "Claire, you've got Nathan so… attuned to you. It's impressive. But I'm curious about how it feels for you, being in this role. I've heard from others that being the dominant one can change you over time, make you embrace that power. Has it shifted anything for you?"
Claire's lips curved into a thoughtful smile, and she tilted her head, considering. "At first, I didn't think it would. I wasn't exactly a take-charge type when we met. But… something clicked." Her eyes lit up, like she'd snagged a memory. "There was this moment, early on, when I realized I wasn't just going along with Nathan's submission—I was owning it."
She glanced at Nathan, her tone playful but edged with command. "Love, you remember the first time I came back from… visiting my friend, and you found out just how much I'd given him?"
