Writing this book has been one of the most freeing and rewarding experiences of my life. What began as a way to release emotions and share my journey became a reminder of the strength that can be found in vulnerability, healing, and self-discovery.
First and foremost, I want to thank the person who inspired me to write this story. You gave me the ambition to put my thoughts into words, confront my emotions, and allow myself the freedom to heal. Without that inspiration, these pages may have never existed.
To my mentors, Joann Long and Gwen Brodie, thank you for the faith you had in me throughout this process. Your encouragement, wisdom, and belief in my abilities gave me the confidence to keep writing, even when I doubted myself. You reminded me that my story mattered and deserved to be told.
To my friends, Timothy, Jackie, Kristie, Shayanna, and Patrick, thank you for standing beside me through every stage of this journey. Thank you for providing a judgment-free space where I could be myself, express my thoughts openly, and find the courage to create my very first book. Your support, laughter, honesty, encouragement, and friendship carried me through moments of uncertainty and helped transform an idea into reality.
Finally, thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey—those who encouraged me, challenged me, loved me, and helped shape the woman I am today. Every experience, whether joyful or painful, played a role in creating this story.
This book is more than a collection of chapters. It is a testament to healing, growth, faith, resilience, and the courage to begin again. Thank you for helping me find my voice and for supporting me as I shared it with the world.
With gratitude,
Kimberly Daye
