The Factory on the Cliff is a crime thriller by A. G. Macdonell. Macdonell was a Scottish writer, journalist and broadcaster. Excerpt: "The two detectives listened with close attention to the story of the invasion of 37 George Street, and the subsequent flight of the fat man. At the end Roberts said, "Now, Mr. Templeton, this amateur business must stop, at any rate your independent—er—detective investigations. We want you to keep an eye open for Griffin and this girl, Susan Blake. You are the only person who seems to know them by sight. If you like to have your friends in to help you, that's your own affair, but I must impress upon you that we must work together, and that you must tell either Fraser or myself exactly what you are doing or what you propose to do. On those terms I shall be very glad to have your cooperation."
