They boarded with courage, from shores they had known,
East Africa's sons, by the Empire called home.
With fire in their hearts and orders in hand,
They sailed from Mombasa to an unknown land.
The sea did not warn them, the winds did not speak,
Of shadows beneath that the brave never seek.
In minutes they vanished, no trumpet, no flame,
But etched in the silence is each soldier's name.
From Tanganyika, Uganda, Kenya they came,
Their dreams drowned with honor, with no cry for fame.
Though the world may forget, their story will rise,
Like dawn on the ocean, like stars in our skies.
O you, who now walk where their footprints are gone,
Remember the fallen, and carry them on.
Not in sorrow alone — let history be stirred,
For silence is treason where truth is unheard.
