The mysterious hacker Stryker13 is dead... as far as most people (and government agencies) need to know. In his place is a seemingly ordinary computer-science student named Luke Blankenship, ready to start a new life with the woman he loves.
Melinda Rossiter is that woman. She didn't expect to fall in love with Luke, or to lose him, and most of all she didn't expect to get him back. After all they've been through, she'd be a fool not to take a chance on a relationship with him.
But when staying with Luke means changing cities and giving up her meaningful job for a much worse one, Melinda starts to worry that the connection they forged isn't strong enough to sustain the day-to-day challenges of living together. And when he gets tempted to venture into high-level hacking again, she has to decide whether their love is worth upending—and quite possibly risking—her life.
