The Heir of Mondolfo

The author of the famed classic novel 'Frankenstein', Mary Shelley also wrote this tale about a young man's coming of age. Fernando, the Prince of Mondlofo had married a young woman from Florentine. At first they had shared a passionate romance. But as time went by their love faded away, replaced by a cruelty on the part of the Prince to his bride. Then came the birth of their son Ludovico, and his growing up under the simmering tension within the castle walls. Ludovico in seeing the harsh treatment of his mother, grew to resent his father, setting of a series of conflict that only escalated after his mother's death.
