His optimism is quickly challenged when he uncovers unusual financial discrepancies in his own campaign, hinting at hidden manipulation. This leads him to Sénatrice Isabelle Dubois, a jaded veteran who reluctantly reveals the existence of "Le Cercle Intérieur," a clandestine society of powerful elites – led by the enigmatic Philippe de Valois – that has secretly influenced French elections and policies for generations.
