In the early years of Spanish colonization of the Caribbean, Captain Morales is tasked with transporting a group of men and women to the silver mines of Tierra de Plata, off the coast of South America.
They are troublemakers accused of minor offenses that don't warrant hanging, but do warrant a life of forced labor far from the colony.
For the governor, they are a problem to be disposed of. For Morales, they are lives under his responsibility.
A few hours after setting sail, a storm drives the galleon onto the reefs of an unknown island. The ship is destroyed. There is no way to continue the journey, and with hundreds of islands scattered about, the chances of rescue are almost nonexistent.
Trapped on a lost Caribbean island, soldiers, sailors, and convicts must work together under Captain Morales's command if they want to survive... and leave the island to seek a better life.
