A nameless girl lives in a pagan temple where she is considered neither child nor person — only an extra mouth to feed and a future offering to the gods. They do not want obedience. They wait for the one who comes to them without fear. Year after year, alone with the stone idols in the half-dark of the temple hall, the girl gathers what no one ever thought to give her — a self. A will. A power with no name, because she has no name either.
