Buu Tu Chung was a Christian pastor's son in South Vietnam. He became a Special Operations helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. He was shot down over Laos, captured by the North Vietnamese Communist forces, and brought to North Vietnam and imprisoned in POW camps. His life in those prisons was filled with many hardships, suffering, and a life sentence for refusing to collaborate with the Communists. With simple faith, he prayed to God for a Holy Bible, to clearly know the path to salvation. Through many scenarios, a miracle happened. The General Department of Politics of the North Vietnam Army sent him a Bible—something that had never happened in a Communist regime. He was also divinely protected from many disasters. As a divine appointment, he alone witnessed some secrets related to American prisoners' corpses. Through his character and his musical talent, many prison guards respected and helped him. After nearly fourteen years of exile, he was the last prisoner of war from the battle of southern Laos to be released from prison, and he returned to his faithful wife and two daughters.
