In seeking answers from God, prophets would often call upon a minstrel to help them move into the presence of God. Though a minstrel may not carry the burden of directly dealing with every member of the congregation, they are often in a position to support and comfort the prophet/minister in seasons when they are weary. God designed this perfect balancing team, and our role as musicians in a church body can be a tremendous joy. It can also present us with trials, as music ministry is often done as a team.
