Henry Archibald Hertzberg Lawson is among the best-known Australian poets and fiction writers of the colonial period and is often called Australia's "greatest short story writer". 'The Skyline Riders and Other Verses' is a collection of some of his poems, featuring vivid descriptions of the Australian bush experience.
