I have spent fifty years studying the unbiased history of humanity, a process that originated in a household and neighborhood that culturally encompasses the four great regions of the world.
A large part of this work focused on origins, migrations, the deep prehistory of who we are and how we got here. This book is the result of something that sits large in our human presence, like an organism, like a vast entity that has influenced our lives more than anything else.
Today we call this entity capitalism. Most would ask an economist what capitalism actually is, but in this action lies your first mistake. Why? Because this allows the system operator to divert your eyes from the costs of their system to your life, to everything they need to disarm your alarm bells.
Therefore, your first goal is to focus on the costs of a system or a thing to your life.
This book was written as your personal satellite to zoom in and out of human existence from the past to the present.
As always, you will be guided through this window by someone who was born both inside and outside a system, which is both my native way of life and my burden.
