The Wings of Destiny is the story of the bald eagle which became the United states' national emblem.
It is a fact-based historical tale depicting everyday life and events in North America near the end of the American Revolution.
The raptor's adventures will take it from West to East coast during one of the worst winter ever in America, in the reverse direction of Manifest Destiny.
On her long quest, she will encounter French « coureurs des bois », Russian traders, Canadian trappers, Shoshones, Blackfeet, Pawnees, Crows, Gros Ventres, Mandans, Ho Chunks and other native inhabitants of this vast land, as well as many animals – falcon, wolf, golden eagles, crows, northern shrikes, Carolina parakeets, etc.
On her way, she will escape, be caught again, fly, swim, be traded and exhibited, hurt, hurled and healed while crossing paths with Sacagewea, Daniel Boone, Abraham Lincoln sr, William Clark, his slave York (of Lewis & Clarke fame), Underground railroad runners and freemen, Benedict Arnold, Alexander Hamilton, La Fayette. And General George Washington.
The 500-pages Wings of Destiny also focuses on the many indigenous people who lived on the continent before the European colonization, and recalls how incredibly close the American Revolution came to failing.
