This book is a literary and cultural tribute to Professor Nnenna Oti, whose courage and integrity became a defining symbol of democratic accountability during Nigeria's 2023 general elections. As the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Abia State, Professor Oti found herself at the center of one of the country's most closely watched governorship elections. By her own account, she faced intense pressure, threats, intimidation, and attempts to influence the electoral process. Yet she remained unwavering in her commitment to one simple but profound principle: every vote must count.

Her steadfast defense of the electoral process ensured that the will of the people prevailed. The election outcome demonstrated that when citizens' votes are respected, democracy can produce leaders who are accountable to the people and committed to good governance. The developments witnessed in Abia State since that election have reinforced the importance of protecting the integrity of the ballot and allowing the electorate—not political power brokers—to determine their own future.

Drawing from the rich heritage of Igbo culture, this book honors Professor Nnenna Oti through twelve traditional titles that have historically been used to celebrate individuals of exceptional courage, honor, and service. In doing so, it goes beyond telling the story of one remarkable public servant. It presents a broader lesson: lasting social transformation is achieved not only by exposing corruption and condemning wrongdoing, but also by recognizing and celebrating exemplary acts of integrity. Heroic examples inspire others to act with similar courage.

More than a tribute to one woman, this book is a celebration of ethical leadership, civic responsibility, and the enduring belief that democracy flourishes when ordinary people—and those entrusted to serve them—choose principle over pressure.
