The Yahwist Reformation Hypothesis-1 Creation to Babel - The Yahwist Reformation Hypothesis, #1

We begin our adventure with the biblical First Creation, where the mythological Canaanite Elohim deities open the flatbottomed Dome of Heaven in the dark Water of the universe and fill it with all manner of Living Things, long, long after mythological deities from far older cultures had already created the dome and drowned most of the inhabitants many times over.

Fortunately, the biblical First Creation myth and the contradictory Yahweh's Re-Creation Day myth that follows it – and the indiscriminately genocidal baby-drowning dome-filling biblical Flood – are just allegories of societal evolution and revolution and reform that were never meant to be taken literally by those who knew.

The Yahweh's Re-Creation Day contradictions give us the first of many clues that lead to the development of the Yahwist Reformation Hypothesis … or something of its ilk. That's the thing with hypotheses … you're not trapped in believing them, and you are never obliged to not ever be wrong.

You and I will happily breeze though unhappy tales of sin and murder and misogyny and godly genocides and a total absence of the mention of love from either the old Elohim of the newish Yahweh until we come to yet another myth adopted and adapted from Babylonian culture that explains the limits of mudbrick construction and why migrant workers now speak in so many languages.

And then we'll pause to think about it all for a time and do some serious personal questioning and fact-checking and soul-searching before we once again strap on the vambrace of intellectual rectitude and venture forth into Book 2 and tales that no culture would willingly record as its genuine history.
