Trials of a Village Priest is a novella whose setting is arural village in Kenya. It attempts to expose ills that hinder development in the society. A local priest is faced with myriad tribulations from the villagers: his daughter is defiled, his land grabbed, his life threatened, a neighbor is sent to bewitch him. He is also alienated from the other villagers. Attempts to reconcile him with the villagers hit a dead end. However, his children succeed in education and become the light of the village. His church grows and eventually swallows the villagers who were initially against him. Lovers of literature (fiction) will find it valuable.
