Typhonomachia — the third and final war of Greek mythology.
Typhon, the last offspring born of Gaia and Tartarus. Taller than Olympus, with a hundred serpent heads sprouting from his shoulders and primordial fire burning in his heart. A being of Chaos that absorbs even the thunderbolts of Zeus. Before this creature, the gods of Olympus flee to Egypt, and the king himself is stripped of his sinews and cast into a cave.
This novel faithfully follows the Typhonomachia as told in Hesiod's Theogony and Apollodorus' Bibliotheca, while reinterpreting it through the lens of Mythozoesis. Typhon's birth, the battle at Cilicia, the Corycian Cave, Delphyne the guardian, the recovery of the sinews by Pan and Hermes, the deception with ephemeral fruits, the sealing beneath Mount Etna — every key episode from the original sources is preserved, yet transformed by the central Mythozoesis thesis: "This was not a war. It was healing."
The final installment of the Mythozoesis mythological novel series, completing the arc that began with the Titanomachia and continued through the Gigantomachia.
