He Created Superhero Comics - Never Dreaming He Would Become A Superhero Himself!
Vermin Calling is a never-ending succession of the "splash-page" adventures of comic-book artist Vernon Jiles and his lovely and talented partner Tenacity Mills. The two cartoonists charge forward into the battleground-streets of southern California to fight drug dealers, mob thugs, Communist revolutionaries and mind-manipulating evil, all with the assistance of their extraordinary comic-book characters.
As a child, young Jiles loved comic books so much that he spent all of his spare time either reading them or working on his own writing and drawing abilities, interests of which his parents, brother, teachers and fellow elementary school students didn't share. As the talented boy accepted his rejection and slowly internalized into his own world, he learned he could actually see his characters before he put pencil to paper. He thought it was simply his mind projecting the images before he illustrated them, until a snake character took revenge on his older brother Clark, who had just beaten and ridiculed him in the schoolyard.
In spite of his family and with the help of his characters, Jiles grows up to become a successful comic-book creator who also uses his special "abilities" to dispense justice to those who prey on the innocent.
