The purpose of this book, and of the 'Second Freedom Struggle' presented in and through this book, is to empower India to accept and fulfill the great global responsibility entrusted to her by history and destiny. Winning the goal of Purna Swaraj for India as envisioned by those brave people of our country who had sacrificed their lives for our political freedom is a historic imperative if India is to play effectively her destined role on the world stage.
This book is also meant to serve as a manual for a new political initiative that is needed for India to achieve the goal of Purna Swaraj. The socio-political ideology of 'Democratic Secularism' presented for the Second Freedom Struggle (Ref. chapter – 4) is a new construct. It is also a creative response to the danger of growing communalism in India today. It is to be seen as a 'stepping stone' towards the holistic socio-spiritual philosophy of 'Dharmodaya'.
