Some mornings arrive already knowing something you don't.
We're Naked! takes place in a single sunlit room on a Saturday: two people, a joint already rolled, the Beatles on the tapedeck, the whole day ahead. One of them has just woken from a dream so vivid and so strange that they need to do something about it right now, with what's on hand.
What follows is an act of recreation. An improvised ritual. Something tender and ridiculous and strangely sacred, the way the best mornings sometimes are.
This is a story about intimacy — the kind built not from grand gestures but from the willingness to say I had this dream, let me show you. It's about impermanence, the way certain moments press their full weight against you even as they're already becoming memory. And it's about the peculiar grief of loving someone across time — or maybe only in your imagination of it.
Originally written as a blog post in 2008, We're Naked! has been revised and expanded eighteen years later into this debut work of published fiction: three short acts, one long exhale. Surreal, tender, and nakedly alive.
The ebook is released simultaneously as a limited collection of 100 blockchain inscriptions, each redeemable for a hand-bound, Coptic-stitched chapbook — signed, numbered, and shipped by the author. Burning the digital to claim the physical is not incidental to the work. It's the point.
We're Naked! A Rapture in Three Acts is the debut published fiction of ChefMyKLove — multidisciplinary artist, writer, blockchain developer, and former chef, writing from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, on the traditional ancestral territory unceded by the Snuneymuxw Peoples.
