In more detail: A widowed single mother with two children treads carefully when dining at her local Chinese restaurant because of its connection to the loss of her husband. Facing a night with no food at the house, Salomi decides to revisit the only restaurant open late. She reluctantly breaks the fortune cookie after her meal, her skin turning pale when she receives the same sinister fortune that her husband received before he lost his life. Not sure how to follow the fortune's instructions, Salomi struggles to come up with the best way to protect her children. When the consequences written in the fortune paper take effect, Salomi finds herself face-to-face with the perpetrator responsible for implementing the cookie fortune's message.
