This novel follows the next stage in life, or rather afterlife for Desmond Orville. His first life didn't go so wonderful, and now he's being harassed by other stalkers in his afterlife? This story reintroduces Stationmaster Garou Dachau and Miss Morae from Loner's Niche. They're also battling other unseen foes that're insidiously invading the Purgatoire waystation and their misadventures also continue throughout Desmond's brief rest in the Waystation before he's able to escape to a new life elsewhere in another world.
