When You are Nowhere

A riot can be stopped with a lie. But can a life survive it?

In the rain-soaked village of Rajnagar, the river divides more than just the land—it separates the Hindu para from the Muslim para, bound together only by a fragile, resentful peace. When Dolan, a spirited Hindu girl, and Ajim, a quiet Muslim boy, disappear together into the mist, that peace shatters.

As the village erupts into a communal riot, Sub-Inspector Das—a weary officer trapped between his conscience and his orders- is handed an impossible choice: produce a body to satisfy the mob's bloodlust, or watch the entire village burn. In a desperate bid to restore order, a false identification is made, a file is closed, and the living are officially declared dead.

But for Dolan and Ajim, the "end" of the riot is only the beginning of their erasure. Forced to flee to the unforgiving slums of Kolkata, they become "nowhere people"—ghosts with no names, no pasts, and no future.
