Wild Sands

Escaping from his stressful job, Jason books a stay at a B&B on the beautiful Oregon coast, where the owners, Robin and Sheila, are about to turn his orderly world upside-down.

Sheila is attractive, vivacious, a little nuts, and has never repressed an impulse in her life. She latches onto Jason the moment he arrives and drags him into athletic daytime activities, but all he wanted was a few days of peace and quiet.

Robin is quiet and reserved, repressing her emotions except at the canvas or the piano. At night she creates in the kitchen, baking the breads, cakes, and rolls she serves for breakfast every morning. Jason wanders into the cinnamon-spiced kitchen one night, and in calm conversation finds the serenity he came for.

This becomes the pattern for his monthly visits, while his friends hound him with questions, his mother starts planning his wedding to one of the two women (as soon as he picks one), and Sheila convinces herself that Jason intends to marry her. But Jason is coming to believe that his secret moments with Robin are the best thing that ever happened in his life—except that one of her neighbors has been steadily wooing her for years, and Robin is on the verge of saying yes.

Somewhere in the chaos surrounding the Wild Sands B&B there must be a key to all of their happiness.
