'Winning His Spurs: A Tale of the Crusades' is an adventure novel written by G. A. Henty. The story begins with Cuthbert, a 15-year-old boy living in Norman England with his mother. He receives information and alerts the outlaws in the forest, who are also his relatives, of an impending attack by the Earl of Evesham, who is angry at them for hunting his deer without permission. However, the forest men are able to reconcile with the Earl when Cuthbert asks for their help in rescuing the Earl's daughter from a kidnapping by a neighboring Norman nobleman.
