"Feelings and emotions are universal; they are simply clothed in the colors of our personal experiences, our cultures, and the earth upon which we walk."
For more than thirty years, the European Union has been my home. It is where I studied, from school through to university, where I worked, and where I traveled across open borders. Living in such a vibrant and multicultural society, surrounded by people from all walks of life, has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.
As a foreigner living in these lands, I have spent decades reading books in different languages and immersing myself in cultures that were not originally my own. Along the way, I came to a profound realization: despite our differing religions, languages, and traditions, we all bleed the same ink when we suffer, and we all share the same light when we hope.
This realization sparked a question within me: If I can find solace and comfort in the books of other cultures, why shouldn't I share my own thoughts, feelings, and cultural heritage with the world?
This book makes no grand literary pretensions, nor does it seek to be a bestseller. It is simply a humble attempt, a discreet homage from someone who feels things deeply, written for others who feel the same. I am certain that your innermost emotions are no different from mine.
As to whether I have succeeded in building a bridge between our worlds and conveying this message to you, that is not for me to say. It is a silent judgment that only you, the reader, can make after turning the final page.
If you find that these pages resonate with your heart and you enjoy this book, please share it with your friends and loved ones so that these sentiments may travel even further.
Thank you for accompanying me on this journey.
Take good care,
Khan Zaman
