The only thing worse than a hero is a team of heroes. Jim Riven knows it, and the Spectrum—the world's most super special hero team—is proving him right. The Dare should have been a simple competition for recruitment, but these geniuses let someone corrupt their minds and turn it into something far more lethal, ironically forcing Jim to work with a bunch of misfit wannabes to survive. Although, the half-reformed villain is pretty cute, but whatever.
Now they've found a path to the endgame, and to what Jim's been searching for all along—the truth about what happened to his sister, the hero Lock. They just have to get there in one piece.
But the Dare is only the first move in a much larger game, and the enemy's final gambit could break the world. These oddballs might be the worst team-up ever, but right now they're all humanity's got. As the hunted become the hunters, it's up to Jim and his band of wannabes to confront the evil force behind it all and do what the Spectrum cannot. What Jim swore he would never, ever do.
